The international short film and animation festival PÖFF Shorts begins today!

Today at 7pm in Kino Sõprus the very first screening of PÖFF Shorts will be the National Competition collection “New Estonian Animation” which will see the world premiere of Ülo Pikkov’s animated documentary “Letting Go” (2017, Silmviburlane, Nukufilm, ANIDOX) and the Estonian premiere of Chintis Lundgren’s “Manivald” (2017, Chintis Lundgreni Animatsioonistuudio, Adriatic Animation).

PÖFF Shorts will also have the world premiere of the Estonian-Swedish short film “Early Spring” (2017, dir. Rain Tolk, Gustaf Boman Bränngård)  on November 25th in the National Competition screening “Spice of Life”.

The festival will screen over 250 films from over 45 countries. The festival’s main programme consists of 5 competition programmes, two of which are dedicated to short film and two to animation. For the first time ever, short films and animations will go head to head in the PÖFF Shorts National Competition.
